A collection of initial thoughts, brainstorming, and in-progress learnings.6

Antigravity

Got to try out Google's Antigravity editor, and it genuinely feels like the future. I was able to build features across multiple projects in a matter of hours, something that would have easily taken me a month or two not long back. All the while, I also learnt so many new things and only needed to review the high level code, which was an amazing experience.

Here are some of the things I built in the last few days:

  • Atlas, a mobile app for storing and managing travel documents. It is open source, and there are some features I am particularly proud of.
  • A full revamp of this blog. Cleaner design, dark mode, color palette chooser and other improvements.
  • A Godot 2D platformer POC. It's a work in progress, more updates coming soon.
  • A small local app where I write a note for my wife every day

It's wild that this much is possible in such a short time, and wilder to think that this is just the beginning. Tools like this are only going to get better. Excited to see what the future holds!

Kenya

Just got back from an incredible trip to Kenya—easily some of the most breathtaking landscapes I've ever seen. Interestingly, much of what we now recognize as Kenya was shaped by the volcanic eruption of Mount Kenya, which explains its vast, flat terrain.

We didn’t visit during the Great Migration, but that didn’t stop us from spotting the Big Five, Small Five, and even the Ugly Five. Also, a pride of FOURTEEN LIONS!

This also means I can update my visited places, which takes my country coverage to 2.7%!

Geo game

Saw some random promoted post on Reddit - turns out it was a geography game, something very similar to what I thought I would build. It was actually pretty good. Basically, you get a country or area to find on a world map and have to click the right spot. Multiple quizzes, works well.

So yeah, no point in reinventing the wheel here. Maybe something India-specific would be interesting instead? Will think about it.
